Miu Shinoda was born in 1988 in the countryside of Shizuoka, Japan. She currently lives and works in Lyon.
In 2011, she graduated from the Aichi University of Education with a degree in art education, specializing in visual arts. A few years later, she moved to France.
Since then, she has been traveling between Europe and Asia, between continental and island nations, crossing different cultures and de sense of values.
She creates works that use flowers as a symbolic motif. These works are constructed by layering multiple colors on the canvas, exploring the relationships between beings and their environment. At the same time, they reflect her personal quest to understand and question her place in a foreign society.
She is also interested in local communities. Her artwork has been used for the labels of Champagne Pierre Laurent in 2020.And she collaborated with the Lyon-based scarf brand Malfroy to create an exclusive collection in 2024.
Miu Shinodaは1988年、静岡県の田舎で生まれました。現在はリヨンを拠点に制作活動を行っています。
2011年、愛知教育大学 (初等教育教員養成過程 美術選修)を卒業しました。その数年後、フランスに移住しました。それ以来、彼女はヨーロッパとアジア、そして大陸と島国の間を行き来し、異なる文化や価値観を横断しながら活動をしています。
彼女の作品は、花をシンボリックなモチーフとして使用し、キャンバスに色を何層にも重ねて制作されます。これらの作品は、人間とその環境との関係を探求しながら、同時に異国の社会の中で自分の存在を認識し、問いかける彼女の個人的な探求を反映しています。
また、彼女は地元コミュニティにも関心を持っています。2020年に彼女の作品はピエール・ローラン（Pierre Laurent）のシャンパンボトルのラベルにも使用され、また2024年にはリヨンのスカーフブランド「マルフロワ（Malfroy）」とコラボレーションし、限定コレクションを制作しました。
Miu Shinoda est née en 1988 dans la campagne de Shizuoka, au Japon. Aujourd’hui, elle vit et travaille à Lyon.
En 2011, elle a obtenu son diplôme de l’Université d’éducation d’Aichi (programme de formation des enseignants spécialisée en arts plastiques). Quelques années plus tard, elle est partie vivre en France.
Depuis lors, elle voyage entre l’Europe et l’Asie, entre les États continentaux et insulaires, traversant des cultures et des valeurs différentes.
Elle crée des œuvres qui utilisent la fleur comme un motif symbolique. Elle les construit en superposant de multiples couches de couleurs sur la toile, explorant les relations entre les êtres et leur environnement. En même temps, elles témoignent de sa quête personnelle pour comprendre et interroger sa place dans une société étrangère.
Elle s’intéresse également aux communautés locales. Son œuvre a été utilisée pour l’étiquette des bouteilles de Champagne Pierre Laurent en 2020. Elle a collaboré avec la marque lyonnaise de foulards Malfroy pour créer une collection exclusive en 2024.
